孩子在某個時期像wild things一樣, 父母總是被期望永遠溫暖的照顧孩子, 但是有時孩子的無理取鬧也讓父母生氣不知道如何回應
野獸國在繪本世界赫赫有名, 作者出版當時是不能讓孩子觀賞的禁書, 將孩子形容是野獸wild things王, 孩子的哭鬧父母用I'll eat you. 突顯了緊張的關係
孩子常常因為被責備而有了離家的心情, 野獸與恐龍都是孩子喜歡的角色, 是否也意味著孩子也不否認他們的衝突, 作者將孩子與父母憂鬱的心靈描述出來, 孩子是需要認同的, 有時親子之間也要溝通如何化解彼此的衝突

與孩子共讀最欠缺甚麼? 我想是簡單英文句子( Ex. Is the Bear O.K.?)，台灣的父母害怕英文疑問句，孩子也問不出疑問句，造成英文繪本僅僅在共同重複讀，所以選擇第二本推薦書-How do dinosaurs go to school?，作者是 Jane Yolen &Mark Teague，書中從簡單的疑問句開始--

Does he drag his long tail?
Is he late for the bus?
Does he stomp all four feet?
Does he make a big fuss?
英文疑問句為” 疑問助詞+ 主詞+ 動詞?”，和中文”吃飯了嗎?”結構不同，但是透過作者將各式各樣的孩子變身成有趣的恐龍，孩子無形中學會了簡單疑問句的結構了。當我與我的孩子共讀時，他會用中文說出每一隻恐龍的特徵和中文名字，記得不要打斷孩子的努力，當孩子不排斥一起分享時，父母你成功一半了。

英文疑問句為” 疑問助詞+ 主詞+ 動詞?”，和中文”吃飯了嗎?”結構不同，但是透過作者將各式各樣的孩子變身成有趣的恐龍，孩子無形中學會了簡單疑問句的結構了。當我與我的孩子共讀時，他會用中文說出每一隻恐龍的特徵和中文名字，記得不要打斷孩子的努力，當孩子不排斥一起分享時，父母你成功一半了。

史瑞克的作者到底是誰？在我接觸了英文繪本五年後，我終於找到答案了。因為太喜歡史瑞克，才開始尋找這位作者的書，真的文字及圖畫都是William Steig，千萬不要忘了他的名字，因為這位作者我開始收集英文繪本，你知道要買到史瑞克的繪本多困難，2009年到美國訪問姐妹市的時候，在美國某大學書店買到的。
我想推薦他另一本溫馨的作品-“ Sylvester and the Magic Pebble”(驢小弟)，有一天驢小弟變成了不會說話的石頭，叫天天不應，叫父母也無人回應的日子，好可憐，驢小弟如何變回Donkey，充滿了想像空間。文字非常優美的作品。

2010年有機會到英國真的有了一次英國歷史及文學之旅，因為我們以參觀大學為主，所以參觀了Oxford University, Cambridge University，尤其Cambridge University 是個大學城處處是書店，一發現兒童書店我完全淪陷了，買了我最推薦的作者Julia Donaldson，書店處處是the Gruffalo 的周邊商品，回國後排練了四個月的劇碼，很適合在圖書館演出，謝謝板橋故事媽媽們成功的演出。
回國在構思劇情時，發現已拍成DVD，超級超級棒，我和我家小孩超愛的，而且作者還編了可怕的主題曲，先唱唱歌再進入古肥玀(Gruffalo)的想像世界，作者把當你肚子餓的時候咕嚕咕嚕的聲音模擬成Gruffalo的音，你會唸了嗎?
